The controversial plan to raise the salaries of government ministers has triggered widespread public outcry with many calling the proposal ‘insensitive’ as the new cabinet was only selected a week ago, and given the large number of political appointees – most of which have little or no expertise in their related ministries – may question whether they deserve the generous salaries and allowances that they already receive.
