Amid reports of rampant sexual violence against women and girls, women's rights activists are calling on lawmakers to bring forward deliberations on a sexual violence bill to ensure legal protection for those who fall victim to sexual abuse. The Commission on Violence against Women recorded 321,752 cases of violence against women in 2015, up from 293,220 in the previous year, the latest being the brutal gang rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl.
