The nation's children are now looking forward anxiously to the ruling by the eight Constitutional Court judges who will determine the future of the nation-state, whether it will enter a bright dawn of civilisation or a dark uncivilised hallway.
The results of the final vote count by the General Election Commission (KPU) – which declared Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka the winners – was not accepted by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD camps, who alleged that there was structured, systematic and massive (TSM) fraud in the 2024 presidential election.
The network of fraud allegedly involved President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, former Constitutional Court chief justice Anwar Usman, the KPU and other state apparatus in the form of manipulating the law to allow Rakabuming Raka to run a vice-presidential candidate, the misuse of social assistance (bansos) by the president, the intimidation of prospective voters by the authorities and vote inflation by KPU.
Meanwhile, a wave of demonstrations and rejection of election fraud along with an amicus curiae (friends of the court) petition submitted by academics and other civil society organisations, emphasised the alleged practices of democratic crimes in the 2024 presidential election – crimes against democracy.
