Speculation is rife that President Yudhoyono forced Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati to resign as part of a deal brokered with Golkar Party chairperson and business tycoon Aburizal Bakrie in which Golkar will ease up on the Bank Century probe in exchange for an end to the prosecution of Bakrie-owned companies for tax evasion.
