Sign above door reads ‘Kuper (lack of attention) Fireworks Factory’

More than 40 people died after a fire ripped through a fireworks factory in a satellite city of Jakarta with bodies incinerated as they tried to escape from the back of the building. Many of the victims were child workers and the incident has again highlighted Indonesia’s poor safety standards and lack of protection for workers.
