Scores of protesters taking part in a defend Palestine action gathered opposite the United States Embassy on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan in Central Jakarta on Sunday October 10.
The demonstrators brought campaign materials supporting Palestine and called on the US government to stop assisting Israel.
From Kumparan's observation, the action was held in an orderly manner with protesters sitting on the main road and sending prayers and holy verses from the Quran up to heaven.
"Expel Israel from the United Nations", read several posters brought by the action participants.
They also brought a poster depicting Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar resisting Israel in the last seconds of his life. Sinwar is considered to be a hero who persevered in resting Israel until he was killed mid-last month in an Israeli drone strike.
Sinwar's death was broadcast by the Israeli authorities on Thursday October 17. In a recorded taken by the drone, Sinwar appears sitting in a dusty chair in the ruins a building in Gaza.
As the drone approached, Sinwar, who was already in a weak and critical condition due to an earlier attack, tried to drive back or attack the drone by throwing a piece of wood in a final act of resistance.
