Yogyakarta – Protesters from trade unions and student groups held a demonstration and long-march to commemorate International Labor Day or May Day in the Central Java city of Yogyakarta on Wednesday May 1, in which they addressed wages that are increasingly unable to cover the cost of living.

Rosseno Aji Nugroho, Jakarta – The Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) and the Labour Party held a demonstration near the Horse Statue in Central Jakarta on Friday October 27 demanding a 15 percent increase in the minimum wage for 2024.

International Labour Day 2022 was commemorated by the Labour Party as a "May Day Fiesta" at the Bung Karno Sports Stadium (GBK) in Jakarta on May 14. An estimated 30-60 thousand workers attended the fiesta. Even if the lower estimate of 30,000 is used it shows an increase in mass mobilisations.
