The House of Representatives’ budget committee is claiming ignorance over an alleged plan to increase the House’s budget allocation and use some of it to construct a new building.

Consistently rated as one of the most corrupt and poorly performing institutions in the country, almost every year lawmakers claim they need a new building in order to ‘improve performance’ or ‘get closer to the people’, only to be forced to back down in the face of widespread public protest.
