Ardito Ramadhan, Jakarta – The parliamentary watchdog Forum of Concerned Citizens for Indonesia's Parliament (Formappi) has criticised a working visit (kunker) by the Capital City Draft Law (RUU IKN) special committee to Kazakhstan accompanied by members of the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas).

Formappi researcher Lucius Karus is of the view that a working visit in the mist of the spread of the Omicron variant reflects the House of Representatives (DPR) failure to set a good example for the public in preventing the spread of Covid-19.

"Even though they have failed, for example in providing an example or model in fighting corruption, that doesn't mean they don't' need to try and set an example any more. They could easily have cancelled the kunker in the midst of the pandemic as a good example to show the ordinary people the need to prevent the spread of Covid-19", Karus told journalists on Monday January 3.
