Jakarta – The families of victims of the May 1998 riots in Jakarta have held a procession in which they scattered flowers and held joint prayers at the Klender Mall in East Jakarta on the morning of Monday May 13.

Devina Halim, Jakarta – Amnesty International (AI) Indonesia is urging the government to resolve the Trisakti tragedy through legal channels. This was revealed by AI Executive Director Usman Hamid in response to the 21st anniversary of the Trisakti student shootings on May 12, 1998.

Farih Maulana S, Jakarta – The Trisakti University has commemorated 21 years since the tragedy which took place on May 12, 1998. The commemoration was held by retracing the footsteps of those killed in the incident and scattering flowers on the Trisakti campus grounds.

Jakarta – On the afternoon of Thursday November 1, around 50 people from the Solidarity Network for the Families of Victims or JSKK again held a peaceful action in front of the State Palace in Central Jakarta.

Fitraya Ramadhanny, Jakarta – Around 200 demonstrators from the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) held an action in front of the State Palace demanding that the government uncover the mastermind behind Munir’s murder. The action – that ended at 3.45pm – was closed by a speech by Munir’s wife, Suciwati.

Suwarjono, Jakarta – Around 1000 demonstrators held a demonstration commemorating world human rights day at the Presidential Palace on Jalan Merdeka Utara on Wednesday December 10. Although the palace was empty – President Megawati Sukarnoputri is currently visiting Japan – it did not diminish the spirit of the human rights activists.
