Tim Detik.com, Jakarta – Demonstrations opposing the recent fuel (BBM) price hike continued on Tuesday in several parts of the country, both in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek) as well as in other cities. The demonstrations were held by various different groups including students, workers and the general public.

International Labour Day 2022 was commemorated by the Labour Party as a "May Day Fiesta" at the Bung Karno Sports Stadium (GBK) in Jakarta on May 14. An estimated 30-60 thousand workers attended the fiesta. Even if the lower estimate of 30,000 is used it shows an increase in mass mobilisations.

Jakarta – A student demonstration held near the Arjuna Wijaya Horse Statue in Central Jakarta has ended in chaos with three students being arrested, one of which was assaulted by police.

Police chased down the students after the chaos broke out on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan. The reason for the chaos is not yet known.

Jakarta – Southeast Asia Freedom of Expression Network (Safenet) Executive Director Damar Juniarto has revealed that digital attacks, primarily against activists, increased on 2020-2021. This mostly happened when there was public opposition to certain government policies.

The LBH Jakarta highlighted a number of issues in the report ranging from corruption to democracy.

Jakarta – Students held demonstration in several cities around the country on Thursday to mark seven years of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's administration. Widodo meanwhile chose to leave Jakarta to officiate the opening of a palm oil processing factory owned by the PT Jhonlin Group in South Kalimantan.
