Hery Winarno, Jakarta – The inauguration of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Boediono as the president and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2009-2014 will be the target of thousands of protesters. Scores of mass organisations will hold protest actions in front of the House of Representatives (DPR) building.

Moksa Hutasoit, Jakarta – For the start of the week, Jakarta and surrounding areas will again be treated to widespread demonstrations, with five protest actions being held at a number of different locations.

Didi Syafirdi, Jakarta – Five protest actions and one silent action will enliven Jakarta today. In order to avoid traffic jams, road users are asked to stay clear of stretches of road in the vicinity of the demonstrations.

Irwan Nugroho, Jakarta – The national police headquarters (Mabes Polri) is asking that the judge reject a pre-trail challenge by the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) against a decision to name non-active Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies Chandra M Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto suspects.

Novi Christiastuti Adiputri, Jakarta – Protest actions will be widespread today in Jakarta and surrounding areas with at least eight actions being held in already congested area of the capital. Watch out for traffic jams!

Shohib Masykur, Jakarta – The coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras), Usman Hamid, took time out on Wednesday to wish President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) a happy birthday.

Novia Chandra Dewi, Jakarta – Coinciding with five years since the death of Munir, some 300 people demonstrated at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) demanding that investigation into the murder of the human rights activists be completed.

Ari Saputra, Jakarta – Thousands of balloons were released into the air on Monday September 7. The coloured balloons with pictures of Munir symbolised five years since the death of the human rights activists.

Yogyakarta – Scores of protesters from the National Student League for Democracy-Politics of the Poor (LMND-PRM) held a protest action at the Gajah Mada University traffic circle on Friday September 4.
