Devina Halim, Jakarta – The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) is calling on President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to order Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to fully resolve the Semanggi I and II tragedies through the mechanism of a human rights court.

Jakarta – Amnesty International Indonesia Executive Director Usman Hamid has welcomed the ruling by the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) which found in favour of a lawsuit against Attorney General ST Burhanuddin submitted by the families of the victims of the Semanggi I and II tragedies.

On Monday July 27 in the Central Java city of Yogyakarta, SOLIDER (People’s Solidarity for Democracy) held a commemoration of the Kudatuli affair (the July 1996 riots), which was a manifestation of the conflict between the ordinary people and the New Order regime of former president Suharto.

Jakarta – Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) Coordinator Yati Andriyani has slammed a statement by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin who declared that the Semanggi I and II student shootings in 1998 were not gross human rights (HAM) violations.
