Sania Mashabi, Jakarta – Indonesian Trade Union Congress Alliance Confederation (KASBI) Chairperson Nining Elitos says that Law Number 11/2020 on Job Creation has had the totally opposite effect to the government's stated desire to increase prosperity and create job opportunities.

Public representatives supporting the Corruption Eradication Emergency Office have delivered 1,505 letters to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo through the State Secretariat. The letters were received by the emergency office since it was opened on September 15.

Jakarta – As many as 97 people were arrested during May Day commemorations in the vicinity of the Horse Statue and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) offices in Central Jakarta on Saturday May 1.

The figures on the arrests were obtained by summarising statements made by police up until the May Day actions ended at 5.05 pm.

Jakarta – A wave of protests against the Omnibus Law on Job Creation have broken out around the country since Monday October 5. Workers and students have taken to the streets to urging President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to annul the law.

Surabaya – An action by thousands of workers and students from the East Java Movement Alliance Against the Omnibus Law (Getol) has urged President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to immediately cancel the deliberations on the Draft Omnibus Law on Job Creation. They also threatened that they will hold even larger protests if he does not.

This opposition was as one of the demands taken up during an action today along the length of Jl MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta on Sunday March 8.
